Well, whatever happens on Saturday against Fulham, one thing is certain. Villa fans have got more enjoyment out of this season than they have had for many a year. It helps when you start to win games again, when you smash both of the local opposition at home and when you get in a position that could take the club back to the promised land of the Premier League. While we’ve, mainly, had fun in this Championship campaign it’s got to said that the club, financially, needs to be in the Premier League. This season we’ve been on Sky countless times but still ‘only’ earned around £10m – that is dwarfed by the c£100m that West Brom have earned for finishing bottom in the top division.
At the start of the season we all had great expectations for promotion – the most optimistic had us winning the league, whilst most others had promotion from either second place or the Play-Offs. This shouldn’t be seen as complacency – with the money Tony had invested in the team, the fan base and the facilities both at Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath promotion should be what we expect. The squad that has been assembled has the experience to get us through this – probably every one of our starters will have either played in a Play-Off final or will have played at Wembley. Can Fulham say that?
So, on Saturday everybody has a job to do. The defence needs to keep their heads and to keep out Sessengnon and Mitrovic, the midfield needs to track back but also prod and attack and the forwards just have to simply score. Behind all the players, the fans need to really show their support on the day – if we work together we can do this. We may be crap next season but at least we’ll be back in the Premier League

Personally I’d forgot what a good track it was and have had it on permanent loop whilst I’ve been typing away.
